I’m so glad you’re here.

I’m Karen McBride

I wear a lot of hats, but my favorite is Mommy to two little ginger boys and wife to my husband, Michael. As a parent, I understand the pressure you feel to get it all right. You want to set your kids up for success—a better life than you lived.

So, when they start to struggle, you think that you’re doing something wrong. It must be your fault, right?

If only it were that easy. Unfortunately, though, in the world we live in today, there is a long list of reasons your daughter is struggling. From social media to social pressures to her body’s changes to her own expectations—it’s a lot.

After working with teens for over 7 years, I’ve seen the rollercoaster that they are in. And honestly, I remember a lot of it from my past, too.

My Story

When I say I get it, I really do. As a teenage girl, I played competitive soccer. It was honestly the perfect escape from the struggles I was having within my home. Well, that is until it wasn’t. In my sophmore year of high school, I had knee surgery and couldn’t play anymore. Suddenly, I was dealing with body image issues, social pressures, expectations from boys, and so much more.

In my junior year of high school, I experienced abuse from someone who I should have been able to trust, and that’s where things really took a spin downward.

Thankfully, through rebuilding my faith, my self-respect, and compassion and love for my body, I was able to keep going and become who I was made to be.
